guide transfer to Arusha city to your accommodation and enjoy your dinner and overnight.
Day 2. Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, you will start your safari through Maasai steppe land to Tarangire National Park. There, you will get to see some of Tanzania’s largest population of elephants and enjoy the diverse landscapes, including the typical baobab trees. This park boasts a high concentration of animals such as elephants, zebras, elands, wildebeests, and many predators.
Packed lunches will be served at the picnic site, with a nice view over River Tarangire, where animals will be gathering to drink from the river. After lunch, you will enjoy a game drive until the evening, to Karatu, where your next accommodation is located.
Day 3. Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will go onto the most famous safari park in the world: Serengeti National Park. It hosts the most extensive population of wild animals on earth and has a complex and untouched ecosystem. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language, a description that matches the park perfectly!
While in the park, you will visit the Seronera Valley, considered as typical from the region with its short grass plains and different kinds of wild animals ranging from mongooses to lions.
Day 4. Full day Serengeti National Park game drive
After breakfast, you will go deeper into the Serengeti in search of the wildebeest migration. The Great Wildebeest migration is one of the “New 7 Wonders of the World” and offers a breathtaking experience. Wildebeests but also gazelles, zebras, and elands take part in it and roam the Serengeti plains in search of water. The lions, hyenas, leopards, cheetahs, and other predators wait for the migration with eager anticipation.
The precise time of the migration changes annually and depends mainly on rainfall. Because of the global climate change, the annual pattern changes but a general trend can still be observed.
Day 5. Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, you will continue your safari in Serengeti National Park. In the Seronera Valley, you might be lucky and get to see predators hunt as animals gather at the waters during the dry season.
After having lunch at a picnic spot, you will make your way to Ngorongoro Crater. This 20 km wide crater is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site list and is home to over 20 000 animals. As soon as you reach the crater, you will have a superb view of the caldera.
In the evening, you will enjoy an incredible sunset before spending the night at your hotel.
Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you will descend into Ngorongoro Crater. It is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and boasts an incredible diversity of wildlife. In addition to zebras and wildebeests, you might also spot the rare black rhino and other members of the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard. The crater is also home to other animals such as hyenas, waterbucks, bushbucks, elands, and more than 500 bird species.
After a game drive and a picnic lunch, you will leave the caldera in the early afternoon and drive back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening to drive off to the airport.
