San Pedro de Atacama is the driest desert in the world. The various activities available onsite make it a popular tourist destination, whether it is trekking on the volcanoes, cycling between lagoons and deserts or exploring the natural landscapes on a tour.

Schedule

We have prepared the following program for our customers. However, all our products can be tailormade! Get in touch so that we can accommodate your needs and requests!

On the way back, you will stop via Laguna Chaxa, another not-to-be-missed tourist asset. Part of Los Flamencos National Reserve, it is home to several bird species, including the Chilean flamingo. You will get to bathe in the lagoon and trek around it.

On the way, you will cross rivers and fields and discover the regional terraces, where farmers grow seasonal fruits and vegetables. You will enjoy the surrounding landscapes, animals, buildings, and colors.
After stopping for lunch, you will continue your trek to arrive at the petroglyphs. They were produced by the locals more than 3000 years ago, and represent foxes, flamingos, llamas, and also human beings.
You will then head onto the Arco Iris trail. This trail is named after the different colors you encounter on your way, from the soil to the surrounding red, green and purple mountains.

The view is worth traveling for, with red and grey colors on the mountains, and turquoise blue for the salted-water lagoon!

The hotel we stayed at the WTW San Pedro has an accessible room with rolling shower. There is also a beach wheelchair if you want to get inside the swimming pool.

What I liked the most about WTW San Pedro experience is that you can plan a relaxed trip going by car to every tourist attraction (most of them have accessible trails and bathrooms), or you can also go for the adventure and handcycle or do wheelchair hikes in the desert with amazing views (I have a c5-6 quadriplegia so all this was assisted by the tour guides and my companions).
San Pedro is beautiful and it’s one of those places where you feel a special energy while there!
