We have prepared the following program for our customers. However, all our products can be tailormade! Get in touch so that we can accommodate your needs and requests!
The Mendocino Coast is a unique place to paddle, with sea caves to explore, wildlife to observe, and great views to enjoy. During your trip, you will explore the Big River, embark on an open water paddle (conditions permitting) to explore the Mendocino Coast and its sea caves, and spend the night in a historic farmhouse, a short walk from the coast.
Day 1. Arrival
You are invited to arrive between 16:00 and 18:00. You will meet up with other guests and take a walk to the Mendocino Coast to enjoy the view. Later on, a communal dinner will be served, followed by a trip orientation meeting, in order to go over the plan for the weekend and answer any questions.
Day 2. Discover Mendocino while paddling
After breakfast, you will be driven to the mouth of the Big River to begin the first day of paddling.
The guides will orient the group to kayaking, and you will get on the water for an approximately 3-mile paddle.
Depending on the tidal conditions and the ability of the group, you will either have lunch on the riverbank or paddle back to the put-in.
After lunch, there may be an opportunity to paddle again, or you will get to choose between heading back to the farm via an accessible hike or explore the town of Mendocino.
In the evening, you will share another dinner with the group and enjoy an evening of group games or relaxation in the farmhouse.
Day 3. Kayaking at Van Damme State Park
After breakfast and packing up your belongings, you will head to Van Damme State Park for your second day of kayaking.
At the beach, the guides will give you a short safety training review, and talk specifically about paddling in sea caves.
You will get onto the water and spend a couple of hours to meander through the caverns and explore the intricacies of the coast.
Lunch will be served on the beach where you started your day at, and depending on time and conditions, you might be able to paddle again in the afternoon.
After that, it will be the end of this kayaking trip and time to say goodbye to the group.
