Your first visit of the day will be Laguna Piedra Roja viewpoint, at an altitude of more than 4000 meters! It is about 200 km from Bolivia and goes via 2 small towns: Socaire and Toconao, which used to be the region capital before the Spanish arrived. The view is worth traveling for, with red and grey colors on the mountains, and turquoise blue for the salted-water lagoon.
Later on, you will visit Menique and Miscanti Lagoons. These lagoons were both formed millions of years ago and bear the name of the volcanoes next to them. From there, you will go on a short hike on the lagoons trail.
