Dynamic and yet traditional, it boasts a wide range of points of interest, from imperial cities, to sunny beaches, from flowers markets to colorful pagodas, from exotic food to its unique way of life… This 15-day trip will give you a complete overview of what Vietnam has to offer with a cooking lesson, theatre show, a cruise and several guided tours, from Hanoi to Halong Bay, from Hoi An to Saigon and from Hue to the Mekong delta! Day 1. Arrival in Hanoi

Your local guide will welcome you at the airport, where a transfer to your hotel will be organised for you. After about an hour drive, proceed to check-in, rest a bit and enjoy the rest of the day.

Time allowing, depending on your time of arrival, enjoy a short guided tour in your hotel neighborhood.

Enjoy the evening as you so wish.

Day 2. Hanoi

After breakfast, start the day with a guided cyclo-tour of Hanoi. Your guide will cycle to take you to the lively yet calm historical quarter of Hanoi. Discover Lake Hoan Kiem, also called the “”Lake of the Returned Sword”” and visit the well-known “”36 old streets and guilds”” old quarter, where every street has it own specialty such as sweets, metal works, coconut carpets, silversmiths etc. As you wander through the neighborhoods, you will also see some old building and temples.

You will then go back to your hotel, to relax for a short period of time, before going out for lunch in a Vietnamese villa.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Vietnamese Women Museum. Promoting gender equality, this museum focuses on Vietnamese women and the role they played throughout the times, whether in the fields of history, art, family life, or during war time etc.

You will then make your way back to your hotel.

Day 3. Hanoi

Today, after breakfast, continue discovering Hanoi, with a guided tour of the Ethnology Museum. The museum focus on the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam, their habits and ancestral traditions.

After the visit, you will have a bit of free time to have lunch, wherever you feel like it.

You will the spend the afternoon discovering Ho Chi Minh, the most renown man of the nation. You will indeed visit his mausoleum and his former house, where many of his personal belongings are displayed.

After visiting the One Pillar Pagoda, the iconic Buddhist temple, make your way back to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day.

Day 4. Dry Halong Bay

Today, after breakfast, you will make your way to the “”dry Halong Bay””, about 2 hours away from Hanoi. Offering an impressive landscape of karst mountains, it consists of 1 of the most spectacular scenery in Vietnam. While there, you will get a chance to visit a lost temple in the countryside, and enjoy a walk, surrounded by karst mountains in rice paddies.

You will then have lunch in a local restaurant and enjoy regional specialties.

In the afternoon, find out more about the region and its dynasties, while visiting some temples.

You will then be transferred to your hotel for the night, in Ninh Binh.

Day 5. Halong Bay Cruise

This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Halong. After about 4 hours drive, arrive in one of Asia’s most famous landscapes: the Halong Bay! Part of the UNESCO world heritage sites list, the bay counts over 1600 karsts, carved by the sea over the centuries.

Once arrived in Halong, at the end of the morning, you will get on board a traditional boat for a memorable 2-day cruise. While on the boat, discover this unique landscape from the superior deck, enjoy your luxury cabin and your meals that will be served at the onboard restaurant. The restaurant is not fully accessible as there are stairs to get in and get to the restaurant, but assistance will be provided by the onboard staff whenever required, throughout the cruise.

Day 6. End of cruise + transfer to Hanoi

Today, you will wake up on board your cruise ship. Enjoy breakfast while navigating amongst the karsts.

A brunch will be served shortly before getting off the boat.

You will then meet your driver and get transferred back to your hotel in Hanoi after a 3-hour journey.

Enjoy the rest of the day as you wish so.

Day 7. Hoi An old town

Today, after breakfast, you will make your way to the airport for a short flight to Danang, in the centre of Vietnam. Once landed, you will meet up with your local guide and get transferred to your hotel in Hoi An.

Part of the UNESCO World heritage sites list, Hoi An is entirely pedestrian and a great place to wander around and shop.

After checking-in your hotel, you will spend the afternoon discovering the city with your guide. Stroll around the beautiful paved streets as you observe the hanging lanterns and colourful houses, and make your way across the popular 16th century Japanese bridge, that was built to link the Japanese and Chinese communities.

After the visit, you will go back to the hotel.

Day 8. Hoi An countryside

Today, after breakfast, you will discover the authentic Hoi An countryside. After a 10-minute drive, you will get to the village of Tra Que, located along a little canal. There, your guide will let you know more about the village history, but also its agricultural activity, and the ancestral manual techniques that are still used.
Later on, walk along the plantation fields to get to your next activity: a cooking demonstration. Enjoy watching how the local food is made and try some of their specialties, such as Tam Huu rolls and Ban Xeo pancakes.

Lunch will be served after the cooking demonstration.

After lunch, enjoy a relaxing foot or neck massage under a bamboo hut.

You will then be transferred back to the hotel, and enjoy the rest of the day as you so wish.

Day 9. Hoi An leisure

Day 10. Transfer to Hue + city tour

Today, take your time to relax in Hoi An this morning, as you will check out from your hotel around noon, to travel to Hue, Vietnam’s former imperial city.

After a 3-hour drive, you will arrive at your hotel in Hue. After checking in, you will have a short city tour with your guide, around your hotel, as it is ideally located in the heart of the city.

You will then go back to your hotel to enjoy some free time.

Day 11. Hue imperial city + countryside

Today, you will discover Hue Imperial city as well as its surrounding countryside.

After breakfast, your 1st stop of the day will be Dong Ba market. Located along the perfume river, it features nice stalls of local goods, such as fruits and vegetables, spices, etc.
Your 2nd and more important stop will be at the highlight of the city: the UNESCO Heritage site listed Imperial Citadel. Former capital of Vietnam between 1802 and 1945, it has been built on a similar plan as the Forbidden City in Beijing. Discover the imperial city as you wander through the park and visit the pavilions and many courts. Unfortunately, the interior of the pavillions is not accessible, but seeing the exterior is well worth a look.

After the visit, you will go back to your hotel, and relax a bit, before your afternoon visit.

The countryside of Hue offers memorable traditional landscapes as it features lush rice paddies and many temples. During your tour, visit the tallest religious building in the country: Thien Mu Pagoda, that overlooks the perfume river. Also make your way to an ancient Japanese covered bridge. Take your time to wander, and take in the special atmosphere!

At the end of the day, return to your hotel and enjoy the evening as you wish to do so.

Day 12. Transfer to Saigon

Today, after breakfast, you will make your way to Hue airport, where you will take a 1h40 flight to Saigon.
Once landed, you will meet with your guide and driver and get transferred to your hotel.

After check-in, time to explore Vietnam’s economic capital: Saigon, also named Ho Chi Minh City. Enjoy a 4-hour cyclo tour as your guide cycles you around to see the city architectural highlights. Witness the trendy youth and luxury shops as you go on a city’s architectural highlights tour. You will not only visit Notre Dame Cathedral, but also the Central Post Office designed by Gustave Eiffel and the Reunification Palace (also called Independence Palace).

Later on, you will make your back to your hotel.

Day 13. Saigon

Good morning Saigon! After breakfast, you will head to Tao Dan Park, in the heart of the city, where you will witness the locals performing Tai Chi. Vietnamese do wake up early to enjoy the morning fresh air, to exercise and hang out with their domestic birds!

Later on, make your way to Ho Thi Ky flower market for a colourful visit. Enjoy the unique sight and smell of the tropical flowers as you wander around.

You will then move on to visit the War Remnants Museum. This museum focuses war history, with an Eastern point of view and and features military equipment and exhibits related to the Vietnam War and the First Indochina War.

After this visit, enjoy the rest of the day as you wish so, whether by relaxing, exploring the city, shopping…

Day 14. Mekong Delta

Today, after breakfast, enjoy a day away from the city as you depart for the Mekong Delta, about a 2-hour drive away.
One of the wealthiest region in the country, it boasts many small canals with traditional boats, endless rice paddies, lush orchards and welcoming locals.
In the morning, you will visit the local market of Cai Be, where you will find all the produces coming from the Mekong region fisheries and orchards. Locals also get their cooking utensils, gardening tools, incense etc from there as supermarkets are not common in the countryside.
You will then continue your journey by visiting a coconut candy, pop-rice and liquor factory.

Later on, you will have lunch in a local restaurant, along the river banks.

In the afternoon, you will take a local ferry boat to explore one of the small islands of the region.

After your visit, you will be transferred back to your hotel, in Saigon.
