From picturesque white sand beaches to a quaint and quirky downtown filled with shops and personality, The Carmel Day Trip is your chance to relax and enjoy the California’s scenic route.
Taking California’s Highway 1 to your meeting point in Monterey, you’ll see breathtaking views and occasional sea otter and surfer. The accessible van that picked you up from your hotel at 8 am will arrive in Monterey after a 2-hour drive and take you to your first stop – Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
At Monterey’s Cannery Row, you’ll be able to stop for a quick coffee and bite to eat before you hit the town. This walking district is filled with trendy restaurants, cafes, and boutiques and was once the center of the local fishing industry. After getting your fill of local cuisine and the town’s history, you’ll have the chance to see the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium. Entrance tickets can be organised for you for an additional fee; however, you’re also welcome to relax and enjoy the town’s stellar beaches.
Later, you’ll make your way to Carmel-by-the-sea by taking the famous 17 Mile Drive! This scenic road will take you through the towns of Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove on the Monterey Peninsula, following the Pacific coastline.
Once you’ve arrived in Carmel-by-the-sea, you’ll be able to experience the town’s natural scenery and rich artistic history, wander the streets, and visit its charming art galleries. You can also stop at the Carmel Plaza, known for attracting artists like Jack London, Upton Sinclair, Mary Austin, and Ansel Adams. After a full day in the Golden State’s most idyllic towns, the accessible van will take you back to San Francisco.
