On this accessible tour, you will be able to discover some of the hidden secrets of the deserts of Qatar.

You will be picked up from your Doha hotel and driven into the desert in a 4x4 vehicle. The vehicle is not wheelchair-accessible, but assistance for transfers can be provided by the trained staff.

After an approximately 60-minute drive, you will arrive at Film City in the desert, located to the west of Doha. This traditional-style Arabic village was built as a film set, to recreate the buildings and city walls typically found in old desert villages. Now Film City stands empty in the middle of the desert and has a ghost town atmosphere. You will have about 30 minutes to explore the set and visit the recreated village buildings.

The next stop on the tour, a 10-minute drive from Film City, is the Mystery Village which was built at the same time as Film City. The village has round stone houses, perched on rocks set in the desert landscape. You can wander through the village and snap photos of the unusual structures.

Lastly, you will continue the tour on a 25-minute drive to a sculpture by the American artist Richard Serra. This installation, named ‘East-West/West-East’ consists of 4 14-meter (45 feet) tall standing steel plates that were placed in the desert, stretching over a distance of 1 km (0.6 miles). A specially designed wheelchair will be provided if you wish to explore the area around the sculptures, and you can admire the views as the sun sets over the desert landscape.

Once you have had time to absorb the peaceful atmosphere, you will be driven back to Doha.
