The Colosseum was used for more than 4 centuries to celebrate the great organized fights of gladiators that came from all corners of the Roman Empire. Guests will enter through its principal gates: The Gate of Death or Porta Libitina, which was dedicated to the goddess of funerals. They will have the opportunity to stand in the Arena: a wooden stage covered with volcanic sand, constructed by the Domitian Emperor in 82 A.C. After leaving the Arena we will continue the tour inside and explore the Imperial, Triumphalist, and Senator gates as well as the Colosseums original arches. We will end the tour on the second floor, which wheelchair users can access through an elevator. Here you will be able to enjoy a view of Rome’s city center! This is the perfect moment to marvel in the glory in what Rome has to offer with your loved ones. Guests will then take a wheelchair-accessible van to the second and final stop, The Roman Forum. The Roman Forum is located between the Capitoline and Palatine Hills and became a monumental symbol of the Roman Empire’s power during 27 BC. The most important remains are located inside of the main square, the Via Sacra, where you will be able to immerse yourself in the city’s rich history! All places visited are all wheelchair accessible and can be navigated independently. However, if needed, staff members have experience assisting people with disabilities. After this jam-packed day, guests will be dropped off at their respective hotels by an accessible van with a wheelchair lift.
