Whether you’re on-site to study the research station’s 2,800 different species of plants and animals, or you’re just looking to admire Costa Rica’s abundant landscapes, the La Sel...La Selva Biological Station is your chance to experience and protect Costa Rican wildlife. Whether you’re on-site to study the research station’s 2,800 different species of plants and animals, or you’re just looking to admire Costa Rica’s abundant landscapes, the La Selva Biological Station offers you the chance to explore unspoiled forests in a sustainable and accessible way.

You’ll start your journey at your hotel, where you’ll make your way to La Selva Biological Station by van. Once at the research center, you’ll be able to explore tropical rainforests preserved for research and education and even enjoy lunch amongst the trees. From there, you’ll be able being your trek on a path that is 100% accessible.

You’ll start by crossing a suspension bridge that places you in the heart of a tropical rainforest. Surrounding by wildlife, you’ll be able to see species such as frogs, butterflies, monkeys, and birds. The entire trail is paved and features tactile strips, allowing you to traverse the path by manual or electric wheelchairs. The trail also features Braille signage at each informational stop enabling everyone to learn about Costa Rica’s endangered ecosystems while experiencing them first hand.
