The Trekking to Villarrica Volcano Base hiking trip takes you on a brisk excursion in Chile's Andes mountain range and gives you the chance to travel to the base of an active volcano. From lakes to creators to forests, the trails are fully accessible and ready to be explored.
Your journey starts with getting prepped at the Mawida Adventures Office. The office is outfitted with accessible park spots, ramps, and information on the native flora and fauna and is the perfect place to meet your Municipality of Pucón certified hiking guides. With WFR and WAFA first aid courses under their belt and 6 years of previous experience leading disabled hikers, your guides know how to tackle trails with rain, snow, or shine. After getting acquainted with your hiking new partners, they will help you get situated into the Joelette trekking chair and ready to traverse the Villarrica Volcano terrain!
Now it's finally time to take a hike! Your journey will take you along the ""Crateres Parasitos"" (parasitic craters) trail. This path explores the base of Villarrica Volcano, one of Chile's most active volcanoes, and lets you discover dense forests, lava trails, and unique thousand-year-old lava formations. Once you've reached the trail's viewpoint, you can take a rest before heading back down the mountain and enjoy a packed lunch while you take in views of Lake Villarrica, Lake Caburgua, and Llaima Volcano!
