Cuajilamoyas is part of a network of small towns called Pueblos Mancomunados (Commonwealth of Villages) composed of eight remote villages (Amatlán, Benito Juárez, Cuajimoloyas, La Nevería, Lachatao, Latuvi, Llano Grande and Yavesía) that are protected under an ecotourism project.
