Wheel the World creates unique accessible travel experiences. We design our own itineraries for our Wheel the World adventures, that we try out ourselves, onsite, with our adapted equipment. We train our partners and guides and then leave our equipment onsite so the experiences can be recreated again and again! The following footage will give you a better understanding of who we are and what it is like to travel with us… Enjoy!

Peru, 2018

Cusco & Machu Picchu

One of our dreams since the beginning of Wheel the World. We created an experience in Peru, combining cultural tours, handbiking, kayaking and of course the visit of a true iconic site. Another “first” for Wheel the World… and a very important one! We made the famous Machu Picchu accessible to travelers with disabilities, making it the true highlight of that trip.

Mexico, 2018

Oaxaca

After having created experiences in Chile and Germany, this was our first ever inclusive trip in Mexico.  We designed a trip that is, to us, the perfect mix of outdoor activities and cultural, historical and gastronomic discoveries.

Chile, 2018

San Pedro de Atacama

In the driest desert in the world,  we created a team with 5 travelers with various disabilities, friends and family members with no disability, and we all collaborated into this truly unique experience. We cycled to Laguna Cejar and hiked on Las Cornisas and in the Death Valley. We even beat a world record: we were the first accessible expedition to reach the Toco volcano summit, 5,604 meters above sea level – that is higher than the Everest base camp!

Germany, 2018

Eifel National Park

After 3 weeks of hard work at the Booking.com incubator competition, we decided it was time for our first European accessible trip. We picked the Wilderness Trail, in the Eifel National Park, in Germany. We had been told we would not be able to do it in a wheelchair. We trekked for four days, traveling 24 kms through dense forests each day. Here is the proof we made it possible. This is the reason we need to keep on exploring the world without setting ourselves any limits.

Easter Island

After our Torres des Paine expedition, we were ready for another one. And how could we make it at least as challenging? We went for the most remote place in the world: Easter Island. We developed the first outdoor inclusive program on the island, trying out cycling, trekking, and scuba diving…  while working with the locals and professionals, raising awareness on the challenges of traveling with disabilities.

Cochamo

After Torres del Paine and Easter Island, the Wheel the World expedition continues to make the world accessible! This time, we went for the famous trekking experience “La Junta”, with a wheelchair. An incredible trip of 8 days in the Chilean Lakes District, enjoying the turquoise river views, the kayaking opportunities, and the local food and culture.

Torres del Paine

Where and how it all began… We were the first ever expedition to complete the famous W Circuit in Torres del Paine National Park in a wheelchair. This is the story of the legacy we left in Patagonia in December 2016, so other people with disabilities could explore this wonderful place again. This is the story of the legacy we want to leave in the world. This is our story.
